We purposefully keep a smaller flock so that we know each of our sheep individually. We love their unique personalities and characteristics.

It is often said that the ram is half the genetics of the entire flock – since one ram covers many ewes and thus contributes more genetics than any one ewe in the flock. We are very careful to choose outstanding rams that exhibit the characteristics that we are selecting for in our breeding flock.
We take as much care in selecting our breeding ewes as we do in selecting our rams, and we want the characteristics of each to compliment each other. Each ewe is chosen for her unique qualities that add to our breeding program.


In addition to our purebred, registered BFL sheep, we also like to cross breed our BFL sheep with finewool breeds to produce crosses that have unique fleece that are soft with a longer staple length and fun colors and textures. To see the sheep we use for the cross breeds, click below.
